With more than 25 years of experience as an operating executive in logistics and supply chain management, Dr. Abbott Weiss specializes in helping his clients achieve well-integrated, high-performance organizations. His world-class knowledge in supply chain management spans strategic planning, materials systems, transportation, inventory management and order fulfillment. He has applied that knowledge in a number of industries, including:

Earlier in his career, Dr. Weiss co-founded Logistics Systems Inc., a company that provided specialized consulting and software solutions to leading commercial and government organizations. His more recent work concentrates on the development and achievement of global supply chain strategies and the effective implementation of supply chain systems. His experience also includes:

• Vice president of worldwide logistics for a leading manufacturer and retailer of consumer products, where he was responsible for designing and implementing a new supply chain strategy
• Vice president of consulting for a prominent provider of advanced supply chain software, where he led a professional services business
• Several senior management positions with a Fortune 50 computer technology company, where he held profit and loss responsibility for a $600 million global business unit and, among other duties, served as vice president of SAP global program management during the firm’s first successful SAP implementation
  

Dr. Weiss holds a bachelor’s degree from Webb Institute, a master’s degree in management from MIT and a doctorate in logistics from Harvard Business School. He is currently a senior lecturer at MIT and a visiting senior lecturer at Simmons College School of Management.
