A trusted advisor and skilled strategist, Mr. Soong has helped private and public companies to improve productivity and profitability in a variety of ways. Noteworthy accomplishments include:

• Financial advisor of a $300 million manufacturer of nutritional bars and powders, where he advised the board on strategic re-organization alternatives and guided the company through a successful Chapter 11 restructuring that allowed it to remain a going-concern
• Oversaw a $500 million cost-reduction program for a $4 billion resort developer and operator, where he also re-designed operational and financial budgeting processes and managed the global implementation of an integrated software package that enabled continuous financial forecasting and real-time analysis
• Interim general manager of the West Coast division of a $200 million manufacturer of personal care products, where he reduced working capital by improving inventory turns and managing receivables and implemented process improvements that shortened cycle-time, increased cash flow and improved fulfillment
• Financial advisor of a $12 billion farm cooperative during its Chapter 11 proceedings, where he developed a complex bid-comparison model for the 363 auction process, which realized $25 million more than the stalking horse bid
• Prepared a $450 million sugar cane refiner and marketer for a strategic sale that allowed the company to remain a going concern, where he developed a detailed cash flow model, helped revise the business plan and negotiated a short-term balance sheet restructuring
• Designed strategic alternatives and recommended various recapitalization options after assessing the business plan for a $420 million residential developer, which enabled the company to implement and complete a successful restructuring

Mr. Soong began his career with a leading, international management consulting firm and then worked at a private equity firm, where he was responsible primarily for investment strategy development, financial modeling, due diligence and portfolio oversight.

Mr. Soong holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard University, where he graduated magna cum laude. He has completed the coursework for a Certification in Distressed Business Valuation and is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor.
