Andrew Whelan is a seasoned international operations executive with more than 20 years of operational leadership experience, with particular expertise in global supply chain management, performance improvement, lean manufacturing and start-up management. He has hands-on knowledge in a variety of different industries, including:

During his tenure at CRG, Mr. Whelan has assisted clients in the following endeavors:

• Developed and implemented an operational improvement plan for a food manufacturing company which resulted in a positive forbearance agreement with the senior debt holder and significant improvements key operating indicators
• Performed operational due diligence on a distressed European home furnishings manufacturer resulting in a successful equity funding event
• Developed an operational restructuring plan for a German transformer manufacturer that enabled the client to obtain a significant line-of-credit to fund restructuring
• Developed and implemented an inventory reduction plan for a multi-plant North American metals fabricator which led to a controlled decrease in inventory levels and a subsequent deleveraging of subordinate debt and carrying costs

Previously, Mr. Whelan spent nine years in various management positions for a Fortune 500 global manufacturing corporation. His most recent position was vice president of global mechanical operations, where he was responsible for all elements of a $620 million division with 4,500 employees. A few noteworthy accomplishments include:

• Managed multiple plant locations across the United States, Mexico, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, North China, South China and India
• Developed and implemented a global operational improvement plan that significantly enhanced productivity, increased sales and reduced costs
• Led the restructuring and divestiture of operations in Finland, resulting in a successful, strategic sale with significant return to stakeholders
• Led Greenfield start-ups of manufacturing operations in Poland, China and India
• Performed acquisition due diligence and integrated multiple global acquisitions

In addition, Mr. Whelan spent 12 years as a consultant and/or senior consulting manager at various professional services firms. In these positions, Mr. Whelan used lean manufacturing and enterprise-resource-planning solutions to facilitate sustainable improvements in sales, profitability and working capital.

Mr. Whelan has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Texas A&M University. He has lived in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Poland, Germany and Austria. He has worked in Latin America, Scandinavia, India, North China and South China. He is conversational in German.
