Gene Baldwin has more than 30 years of interim management and advisory experience. He is a corporate leader with a well-established reputation for his ability to assess, develop and implement operational and financial improvement initiatives that enhance the value for stakeholders. Mr. Baldwin has served in various senior-executive roles, managing companies through complex operational and financial restructurings. In one of his recent assignments, he served as president and chief restructuring officer (CRO) of a 350-unit franchised quick-service restaurant chain with total system sales of nearly $400 million. During the engagement, he implemented more than $6 million in annual cost reductions, increased comparable store sales, reduced senior debt, improved liquidity and enhanced stakeholder communications. Over a three-month period, these actions led to an increase in EBITDA from a projected $7 million to over $10 million, with EBITDA projected at $14 million for the following year.
In another engagement as CFO and a member of the board of directors for a $200 million oil, gas and real estate company, Mr. Baldwin was responsible for financial functions, including cash management and financial reporting.
Mr. Baldwin has successfully advised companies though complex out-of-court and bankruptcy restructurings, significantly improving operating results, developing and implementing restructuring plans and negotiating the sale of various companies. Representative advisory engagements include a $1.8 billion construction company, a $250 million computer manufacturer, a $150 million restaurant chain, a $400 million retail grocer and a 125-unit restaurant chain.

Mr. Baldwin has been awarded the Certified Turnaround Professional designation from the Turnaround Management Association. He is a Certified Public Accountant with a bachelor's degree in accounting from Pittsburg State University. He is a frequent speaker at restaurant finance conferences and is the author of several articles about the operational and financial management of multi-unit retail businesses.
