David Hsu is skilled in financial analysis, operational improvement and due diligence. He has experience in crisis management, asset recovery, cash management and vendor communications.  He has also managed accounts receivable teams, created integrated cash flow models and implemented operational improvement initiatives. A few noteworthy assignments include:

• Identified and executed operational improvement initiatives for a $130 million daily newspaper that improved ad operation cycle time by over 80% and implemented projects that are on track to save over $7 million of annual costs for the newspaper
• Developed a financial and operational restructuring plan for a $100 million transportation company and managed them successfully out of bankruptcy. Identified and implemented cost saving initiatives and best practices, helped update the company business plan and assisted management in achieving business stability and return to profitability
• Managed daily cash and treasury operations of a luxury destination club and worked with the company’s executive team to oversee day to day operations, implement bankruptcy restructuring initiatives and conduct asset sales
• Served on the interim management team for a $135 million international motorcycle products manufacturer and distributor during its Chapter 11 proceedings and asset sale, where he prepared a DIP budget, a 13-week cash flow model, assisted with liquidity management and inventory analysis, and led communications with the lender group
• Prepared an offering memorandum and due diligence materials for a quick-service restaurant chain. Assisted owners with management training, performance improvement initiatives and restaurant and warehouse layout design

Previously, Mr. Hsu worked as a financial analyst for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, the nation’s fifth largest mass transit system, where he assisted in the allocation and management of a $1.2 billion operating budget and selected capital projects for the MBTA.

Mr. Hsu holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Babson College, where his studies focused on finance and marketing. He is a member of the Turnaround Management Association and The Association for Operations Management and is a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA).
