Doug Flannery has a broad base of diversified experience. His background as a turnaround professional, strategist, business architect, change manager and project manager has given him a wide variety of skills, including:

  • Negotiating a joint venture between a U.S. design and marketing company and a large Chinese manufacturing firm
  • Transforming a mid-sized company from a product-based divisional structure to a functionally-aligned organization with a 30% reduction in staff costs in three months
  • Creating a plan to outsource manufacturing from an existing Canadian plant to a mequiladora firm in Mexico, thereby reducing product costs by 30%; revamped standard costs to better reflect actual profit margins and reduced seasonal inventory by 50%
  • Creating and launching an online purchasing business for over 12,000 SKUs with 160 suppliers and 120 buyers
  • Serving as change manager for a medical equipment manufacturer's SAP installation in four countrie

Prior to his work as a turnaround professional, Mr. Flannery worked with CAP Gemini Ernst and Young/Greater China, where his role included providing strategic and business solutions to Fortune 1000 companies. As a technical project manager at General Electric, Mr. Flannery managed nuclear fuel and service contracts worth $7.5 million with 17% profitability and performed six sigma quality analyses on systems and processes.

Mr. Flannery received his bachelor's degree in engineering physics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also holds a master's degree in nuclear engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic and an MBA from Columbia Business School. Mr. Flannery is an active member of the Turnaround Management Association, Project Management Institute and International Business Association.
