John Sumner has more than 20 years of experience in senior management with a concentration in turnarounds and new business development. His experience includes extensive work in Europe, Latin America, the Far East, Africa and the United States, and he has experience in a broad range of industries, including:

Mr. Sumner is an accomplished leader and restructuring advisor. He is exceptionally skilled at bringing value to stakeholders, serving numerous companies in a variety of interim management and/or support roles, including interim CEO, COO, CRO, turnaround manager, operational restructuring specialist and financial advisor. A few of his noteworthy engagements include:

• COO of a $500 million fabric company specializing in spinning, weaving and finishing
• Turnaround management and operational restructuring services for a $750 million branded textile company
• CEO of a large hospitality, gaming and commercial furniture manufacturer
• Turnaround management and operational restructuring services for $150 million blanket manufacturer and a $150 million company in the automotive fabric industry
• Advisor to a large group of lenders of a $100 million ethanol producer
• Restructuring advisor to a $150 million transportation and logistics company and two large residential real estate developers

Previously, Mr. Sumner headed his own consulting firm, which specialized in adding economic value to companies. He was also president and COO of a start-up, non-woven business and served in senior-level management positions at Kimberly-Clark and Johnson & Johnson.

Mr. Sumner holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MBA from Georgia State University.
