- Vice president of global purchasing for a $1.2 billion aluminum components manufacturer, where he helped prepare them for a sale by improving working capital, developing operating lease strategies to decrease costs and working with employees to enhance productivity
- Vice president of global sourcing for a $1.8 billion construction equipment manufacturer, where he improved operations and reduced costs by implementing global supply strategies and Lean concepts across the supply chain
- Director of strategic sourcing and managing director for the joint venture of a $1.2 billion manufacturer of lighting fixtures, where he revised the business structure to create a profitable joint venture and improved a strained relationship between corporate and the joint venture partner in China
- Strategic sourcing manager for a major airline, where he worked to develop a strategic sourcing process that made operations more efficient and reduced total cost and inventory levels
- Utilized Six Sigma processes to develop and implement a revised supply chain strategy for a $1.5 billion automotive supplier, which improved working capital and reduced inventory and total costs
- Developed and implemented a global steel strategy for a $3.6 billion heating and cooling manufacturer that made supply operations more efficient and cost effective
Mr. Berlin began his professional career as an engineering designer for Ford Motor Company. He worked for Ford for several years, serving in a variety of management positions.
Mr. Berlin holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Madonna University and an MBA in international business from the University of Detroit Mercy. He is a member of the Institute for Supply Management and the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals. He also is a frequent speaker at business conferences, where he discusses supply chain management, working capital improvement and similar topics.
