Mr. Gilbreth has served in senior management and advisory roles and is particularly skilled in liquidity and cash management, defining and implementing operational restructuring plans and acquisition due diligence. A few noteworthy accomplishments include:
- Chief financial officer (CFO) of a privately held national transportation company, where he implemented financial and operational improvements and managed the sale process to a strategic buyer
- Managed liquidity for a $400 million healthcare distribution company in default, allowing for successful negotiation of a new lending facility
- Assessed the business plan of a $400 million publicly traded multi-national manufacturing company and worked with management to identify and quantify cost savings opportunities
- Financial advisor for a steel manufacturer during its Chapter 11 proceedings, where he prepared financial models and managed the due diligence process in the $600 million pre-arranged asset sale
- Advisor to the largest pension fund administrator for a $6 billion transportation service provider, where he reviewed operating metrics and performed a collateral analysis as part of the negotiations to secure collateral in return for funding deferrals
- Evaluated the business plan and managed liquidity for a $400 million bakery products company resulting in the successful negotiation of an amendment to the existing credit facility
- Prepared and delivered a fairness opinion to the special committee of the board of directors for a publicly traded, $420 million consumer products retailer during its $250 million stock sale
Previously, Mr. Gilbreth served as CFO of a national transportation company, where, among other duties, he created a dynamic pricing model to protect profit margins, introduced key performance indicators to manage costs and increase profitability, and improved operations and customer service. Prior to that, he spent five years at Prudential Securities and CIBC Oppenheimer, most recently as a director in the Mergers and Acquisitions Investment Banking Group.
Mr. Gilbreth holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and accounting from Claremont McKenna College. He has an MBA in finance and accounting from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business and a master’s degree in economics from the University of Southern California. Additionally, Mr. Gilbreth is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
