Peter Marschel is skilled in various forms of business valuation, financial analysis and due diligence services. He has performed P&L and risk management analyses for corporate development transactions, as well as other business development activities, and has experience in a variety of industries, including:

Mr. Marschel was a senior financial analyst in the corporate licensing and business development department of global pharmaceutical giant Merck & Company. Prior to that, he was a financial analyst for The Dow Chemical Company. In these positions, Mr. Marschel performed numerous in-depth valuations and analyses. A few notable services include:

• Actively supported corporate development efforts through the valuation of pharmaceutical and biotechnology licensing opportunities, potential M&A targets, strategic white space opportunities and R&D projects
• Provided transaction managers with analyses of deal economics and term-sheet structures, which were vital to company negotiations
• Implemented the Monte Carlo financial modeling method to quantify variance and risk
• Performed valuations of various business units in support of goodwill impairment analyses and potential divestitures

In addition to his work as an analyst, Mr. Marschel served as a technologist/software developer for a start-up dot-com company, which he helped transition through a business-model shift and was the lead developer for the company’s first hosted software product. Previously, he was a researcher in the microcirculation lab at the University of California, San Diego, where he performed original biomedical research resulting in publication in a peer-reviewed scientific journal.

Mr. Marschel holds a bachelor's degree from Columbia University and a master’s degree from the University of California, San Diego. He also holds an MBA with concentrations in finance, accounting and marketing from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper School of Business.
