Michael L. Pinette, Partner

Mike Pinette has more than 25 years of experience in a wide variety of manufacturing environments, specializing in operational improvement for underperforming and nonperforming companies. He has experience in many industries, including:

Mr. Pinette has served in numerous advisory and management roles, assessing, developing and implementing effective solutions to complex situations. A few noteworthy engagements include:

  • Led the improvement efforts for the underperforming Polish manufacturing operations of a global EMS client, where he reduced inventory by 40%, redesigned manufacturing operations, and designed and instituted tools to fully utilize ERP cost and financial capabilities
  • COO of a vertically integrated wood products company, which he reorganized during its workout, streamlining manufacturing operations and successfully completing the refinancing process
  • Solved major bottleneck in an automotive engine plant, resulting in an immediate 10% increase in output and a 20% increase with recommended production line redesign
  • Developed approach to realize $20 million in savings for a financial services company by migrating customer service to the Web
  • Drove supply chain initiatives for a grocery chain, resulting in a $5 million annual transportation savings and a 45% stock-out reduction

Previously, Mr. Pinette worked as an independent turnaround consultant. Prior to that, he served as a manager at Bain & Company, where he was recognized for worldwide contributions in operations and manufacturing. He developed manufacturing strategies for Fortune 500 companies and supported the company’s private equity groups with quick-turn manufacturing due diligence.

Mr. Pinette holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial management from Lowell Technological Institute and an MBA from American International College. He currently sits on the board of directors for Activplant, an EMI software company based in Canada. Mr. Pinette is actively involved with the company, serving on its M&A committee, its audit committee and as an outside director.
