Lisa Poulin is a senior executive with more than 27 years
of turnaround management and advisory experience, bringing direction
and structure to companies in transition. Her strengths include
determining the optimal strategy, defining the tasks to be achieved,
creating a working group, problem solving, financial analysis,
business plan development, obtaining financing and enhancing
communication with interested parties. Ms. Poulin’s experience
covers a variety of industries, including:

Ms. Poulin has been instrumental in a number of prominent,
complex restructurings, with varied responsibilities, including:
- Trustee for USA Investment Partners LLC, and its related
entities including USA Investors VI, Tree Moss LLC, HMA Sales
LLC with debt in excess of $200 million and Capital Land Investors,
LLC. Additional holdings include real estate interest in over
75 entities and properties with over 40,000 acres of land
in various stages of development as well as an Internet company
- Acting CEO of a $700 million specialty retailer
- Advised Musicland Group Inc., a $1 billion specialty retailer,
during its bankruptcy
- Served as chief restructuring officer (CRO) of Environmental
Elements Corporation, an engineering company with operations
in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, through
the sale of the business in a Chapter 11 proceeding
- Advised Oakwood Homes Corporation, an $800 million manufactured
housing company, during its bankruptcy process, including
obtaining a $250 million DIP loan
- Interim CRO of Seitel Inc. after the CEO and CFO left the
company, where she was involved with cost reductions, developing
and implementing underwriting policies, business plan development,
designing a compensation program, performing investigations
and negotiating a forbearance agreement with bondholders
- Assisted numerous companies through their Chapter 11 filings,
including but not limited to Kmart Corporation and US Airways
- Chapter 11 trustee for living.com and Shaw Furniture Galleries
- Assisted a money-center bank with a restructuring of its
bond portfolio operations process, which had a $47 billion
out-of-balance position prior to her involvement
Ms. Poulin has served as an advisor to numerous companies
both in and out of court and has testified on a wide range of
issues. She is a frequent speaker and author on insolvency and
turnaround management. Ms. Poulin is a Certified Turnaround
Professional and a Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Bucknell University
and a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Ms. Poulin serves as a vice president of the Turnaround Management
Association Board of Directors and is a member of AIRA, ABI
and the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring
Confederation. In addition, Ms. Poulin has held numerous board
positions with Nexus Recovery Center, Inc. and is currently
on its capital campaign committee.
