- COO of a $26 million manufacturer of measurement and process
control equipment; implemented cost reduction and outsourcing
programs that resulted in significant annual savings; EBITDA
improved by 100%
- Initiated a major outsourcing program for a manufacturer
of environmental chambers and custom ovens; transitioned the
business from vertical integration to assemble-and-test, greatly
reduced costs and improved operating profit
- Re-negotiated payment terms for a manufacturer of high-speed
centrifuges experiencing a cash flow problem; implemented
a plan to reduce overhead and inventory, enabling the company
to sell the business to a strategic buyer
- Instituted world-class manufacturing programs for a manufacturer
of electronic instrumentation and control systems; implemented
the Kanban method in a JIT environment to drastically reduce
lead times; implemented quality program that reduced final
inspection rejection rates from 9% to 0.1%
Mr. Turpin holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He also holds an MBA from
Wake Forest University.
