Wayne Carlson has more than 20 years of IT and technology-enabled financial management experience, including IT turnaround and interim management for several leading private equity firms’ portfolio companies.  Mr. Carlson’s IT-focused competencies include ERP selection, implementation and reconfiguration, e.g., J.D. Edwards, infrastructure management and consolidation, cost reduction, organizational restructuring, as well as IT governance and programming.  His experience includes a broad range of industries including:

Mr. Carlson is an accomplished and proven leader.  He founded his own technology company, which wrote and marketed a mid-market ERP system, and secured $5 million in venture capital funding.  The business, under his direction, grew into a multi-million dollar company, with over 350 active installations and an international reseller network, before he sold it to a NASDAQ listed firm.

A few of his noteworthy engagements include:

• Interim CIO of a $100 million specialty consumer products portfolio company of a leading private equity firm, where he integrated three ERP systems into a single J.D. Edwards platform, redesigned and launched new Web Commerce systems, consolidated communication infrastructure, and oversaw design and implementation of a new data center
• Interim CEO for a specialty food distributor which produced a positive EBITDA every month, under his direction
• Interim CIO and Business Advisor to a leading sports calendar company where he designed and implemented processes for inventory management, 3PL and UPS integrations, vendor managed inventory systems with Wal-Mart, Staples, Office Depot, Office Max and Kmart
• Led IT assessments for a $500 million specialty retailer, a $400 million advertiser, a $200 million specialty food retailer and a $100 million online gaming company

Mr. Carlson holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and an MBA from Michigan State University.
