Bill Bandt is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years of experience in operational and financial restructuring, corporate governance and business development. For many years, Mr. Bandt has advised corporate management, boards and legal counselors on a wide range of restructuring matters, both out-of-court and during Chapter 11 proceedings. He is a skilled business development executive, facilitating growth through the implementation of new products and services, as well as strategic alliances, divestitures and mergers and acquisitions. A few noteworthy accomplishments include:

• CRO for one of the world’s largest wholesale telecommunications providers, where he restructured financial management and accounting procedures, renegotiated loan covenants and implemented a strategic marketing function, greatly improving cash flow
• Advisor to the board of an international telecommunications company that was considering Chapter 11 proceedings, where he helped improve liquidity through cost reductions, asset divestitures and extensive debt restructuring, which enabled the company to avoid bankruptcy
• Interim CEO of a manufacturing joint-venture in China, where he streamlined operations and restructured financing, which significantly improved liquidity
• CRO for a subsidiary of one of North America’s largest independent oil and gas providers, whose trading business faced extensive contract-counterparty defaults, where he restructured the subsidiary’s trading portfolio and sold non-strategic assets to increase cash flow, enabling it to avoid bankruptcy and other litigation
• Advised a private equity firm on strategic and financial options regarding an oil and gas company in its portfolio, where he improved liquidity through asset divestitures and a favorable renegotiation of bank covenants
• CRO for one of the largest U.S. sub-prime mortgage lenders, which urgently needed to divest its $35 billion portfolio of mortgage-backed securities, where amid regulatory scrutiny and creditor pressure, he managed SEC compliance and helped sell assets, resulting in a successful wind-down without a bankruptcy filing
• As a corporate executive, Mr. Bandt has served in a variety of leadership roles, including CEO at two Fortune 200 companies. He also was a senior partner at Arthur Anderson, where he founded and led the firm’s operational and financial restructuring practice.

Mr. Bandt holds a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University, where he graduated with honors. He also holds a master’s degree from the University of Iowa and an MBA in corporate finance from the University of Southern California. Mr. Bandt has served on numerous boards, primarily on audit or special litigation committees, and is a frequent speaker and author on corporate finance, restructuring and related topics.
